What I did is:


Cut out the old floor panels up to the point where they meet the cross
member, trans tunnel, sill and firewall. I used an air chisel with a panel
cutter bit, but you probably could use a saw-all or jigsaw to do this. This
leaves portion that is spot welded.

I then drilled each spot weld , using a drill bit that is slightly larger
than the spot weld. It will take some practice, but try to drill only as
deep as the floorboard layer.

You should then be able "peel" the remaining floorboard away from the
crossmember (and tunnel/sill/etc.) using a hammer and chisel (or an air
chisel with a spot weld cutter bit).

Dress the crossmember/tunnel/sill with the grinder to remove any remaining
floorboard.
