Vinegar which is a mild acid or muricatic acid.  Vinegar is
probably safer.  You'll get a reaction just like putting
baking soda on a battery to clean it.  Baking soda is a base
just like the lye but much weaker.  Remember the Litmus
paper tests from General Science?

Once nuetralized with the vinegar, no.  It will be in the
form of a salt.  It most likely will act just like putting
down to much lawn fertilzer.  Fertilizer burn.

The pipes are inorganic.  The hair, sludge, skin, blood,
cotton, etc. in the pipe is organic.
