While loosening the u-joint bolts and pulling on things on my '79 B's
steering column to remove the rack, I had something odd happen.
>From the engine bay, the portion that disappears into the firewall came out
with a tug. This is splined on the end that attaches to the u-joint, and
changes to a box section.
I presume this is part of the collapsable portion of the steering column,
but is it supposed to come out that easily?
