Ah, right.  If you had a 45DE4 distributor originally (the one with the 
attached electronics module) that would have been the dropper resistor for 
that.  It isn't needed for any other type of distributor or trigger.  One 
thing though, one of the wires going to it carries a full 12v, where do you 
have the red wire of the Pertronix connected?  If to the coil +ve terminal, 
and still have the harness ballast resistance in series with the coil, the 
Pertronix red is better connected to that now unused 12v wire.
