I would think twice about the XR4Ti 5-speed. We had one of those cars, as did
several friends. The manual gearboxes were not very reliable; they were well
known for being the weak link in the car. One outfit sold a conversion kit to
switch to the Mustang 5-speed. The box in our car failed in about 20Kmi., and
was starting to go south again when we sold the car with 60Kmi. on it. And
this was with the car being driven as if it had a really weak box.
