I received a plea for help for a new Morgan owner who wants to
find out the model-year of his car.

Charles Ingersoll acquired an early Plus Four that had been in
storage for many years in Pennsylvania, but has no title.

It is a Triumph-motored, twin-spare and he believes it to be in
the 1955-59 range. We think the chassis number is 1899.
He found that number "in the engine compartment right below
the windshield", presumably referring to the chassis number
stamped on the bonnet hinge. The motor serial is TS-828-FR.

I no longer have my book with years and serials, but Tony
McLaughlin's registry seems to show all the Plus-4's serials
of the 1955-59 time period to be in the 3000 range.

Can anyone tell us what year chassis #1899 was built???

Thanks,
