Mystery solved. We found the correct serial. Got this note from Charles just now... Joe, Success. Thanks to you and Gerry. I visited the car this evening (Mon) and Gerry was right. The number I had found, in the engine bay, stamped on the tool tray, was the engine number. I then looked carefully and FOUND the serial number Gerry gave - 3161. So, I now know my car is a 1954 Plus Four with a factory reconditioned Triumph TR2 engine. I'll let Gerry know tomorrow. Thanks again. Charles Ingersoll |
