Tom and all,
I have an extra 6V radio that I'm now willing to part with. It is
currently in my truck but I got my other radio back last week from my
repair man and will be switching whenever I'm motivated. The radio I'm
selling was just overhauled last fall. I have receipts and it works
well. The price (now take it easy) is $200. That may seem high but I did
just spend $80 on it and they are hard to find. The price for a
completely restored AD truck radio can be from $400-$500 (ouch) So to my
way of thinking I'm offering you a fair deal, but you'll have to decide.
I don't mind keeping it but with so many folks looking for an original
working radio, I thought I'd offer it for sale. This will fit AD
Chevrolet trucks from late '47 to 1953.
If you or anyone else would like more information mail me off list.
As far as the question of sound quality etc. I sort of like the humm of
the the old vibrator warming up and listening to the old AM format on
the radio. It makes you for a little while think you are back in 1950.
On a clear night you can pick up Little Rock.
