I have a '53 3100 with a small block in it. The original steering box can
be used if:

* USe rams horn exhaust manifolds
*Take the drivers side and cut the flange off, weld in a 6 inch extension
tube to move the flange closer to the road (away from the frame).
You will now have 1/4 inch clearance for the steering box up into the arch
of the ramshorn manifolds and 1/4 inch clearance on the fuel pump

has anyone put a v-8 in a '48 to '54 chevy p/u using stock steering without
moving the box out? Which manifolds, headers etc. worked? Any special tips?
