The frame on the 60s trucks is wider at one point near the rear 
suspension, so it probably wouldn't be as easy to do as you imagine. 
But you could cut off the frame and weld on the rear part of the newer 
frame, I think.  I have a complete rear frame/suspension from a 64 
truck in my yard, I'll look into it.
