Your points are well taken and of course you're right except
for the supply and demand part.  Call it demand and
financial rape maybe. The early buyers "should" have the
right to purchase at MSRP but are FORCED to overpay. Silly?
Poor Financial Management? sure, certainly their choice.
Just a damn shame.
