Allen--I have always felt there should be separate judging.  I am sure not 
qualified to judge a concours, but I know what I like.  Judge concours with 
concours judges in its own realm, and judge drivers/self built cars 
separately.  Or, how bout something novel?  Don't judge them at all. Just 
enjoy the whole field!  Boy does that ever smack at the good old American 
tradition of competition.
