This is EXACTLY what happened to me and my indonesian brake light switch
last weekend.
I have been using Lucas NOS or good used until I exhausted my supply and
had to switch to 3rd world manufacture. 2 months max no matter who makes
it.
I have a few other US made switches now. The US and UK switches never
blew out, they just failed as a pressure switch.
There is a company making pressure switches for silicone now. I am
ordering one.
Others may not have as much troubles with their switches but do the
others use their car everyday? This is my daughter's only car. (It's my
only daughter too, you better believe I keep the brake system, steering,
and lights in tip top shape.)
