Mark,

This info (being more specif) is correct. I have sometimes heard people
refer to metal prep as a primer and that is what I thought was your
reference. Also, I think the question turned more on how to inhibit rust
_without_ dragging out the paint equipment each time an area was finished

I don't know about your welding claim though. I have NO expertise in
welding, but everyone I know that does weld will not weld over painted
areas because it usually prevents a clean weld. Anyone?
