I'm not saying you could track back but it may be a
good check - when I purchased my bugeye - it had
a new chassis plate. The previous owner gave me
the old plate which was just readable - it had been
shot blasted with the body.
I used the key number and the chassis number as
a double check and later I found the matching wax
pen number on the dashboard.
