I have the same weber set up that you have. I also wondered about a vacuum
source for the hose from the valve cover. My stromberg had a T connection
that went from the valve cover to the T, from the Charcoal canister to the
T, from the T to the Carb. The connection to the carb had a restrictor
orifice in it.

The weber installation only connects from the valve cover to the bottom of
the webers filter plate. The draw of air through the filter, over the hose
connection is supposed to create enough vacuum for ventilation of the valve
cover. I don't have a ventilation problem on my 76. Works fine.

Was the hose connected to your carb when you went for your run? You said
you stuck your finger over the tube and it increased alot.... On my 76, that
valve cover hose is the only ventilation on the engine, if you plug that up,
any cylinder blowby has to go somewhere, the only other where is out the
dipstick. That is another question, how much blowby do you have?
