Similar here. Good friend at work, his mother in law goes in to get her oil
changed in her new Town Car. She leaves, and about 15 miles from the place, the
car goes to clattering real bad. She drives it back, rattling the whole way, and
gives it back to the dealer. She calls my friend to come get her. 30 minutes
later, the dealer calls "car is ready, all is fine". My friend is the
maintenance supervisor, he knows a line of lies when he hears it, so he goes
back. They show him the filter. The filter in the new Town Car sits horizontal,
and the seal had fallen and was resting on the threaded center bolt when it was
tightened down. They tightened it so tight, it CUT the seal, right where it
contacted the mount, and the mechanic didn't see it hanging, or notice it fall.
They said, "we changed the oil, checked the pressure, and it is all fine. The
problem is with the filter, and we will talk with Valvoline when they come in
again" My friend said, there is more wrong with the car than you will admit. And
the service manager is going, "its fine, its fine". My friend wants to talk to
Valvoline as well, manager says ok. My friend grabs the filter, and says, Until
I talk to Valvoline, I will keep this in my possession. The manager goes "NO, I
will keep that here until he shows up". My buddy says, I have a receipt that
says my mother in law PAID for this filter, it's mine, it's going with me. MAN
was that service manager pissed. This was last week, Monday, they went to the
head of the dealership, because strangely, no one has spoken with Valvoline yet.
The head of the dealership didn't even know of the problem.
IOW, YEP, all IDIOTS!!!!
Sorry Frank, you know I like you, but I can't abide a Ford.
Or a cat........
