Robert D also mentioned that the problem is related to headlamps.  The
headlamps in a Spridget are not fused, so that could be a complication
to the symptoms.

I still can't figure out why they didn't put a fuse in the headlamp
circuit.  Prolly because if the fuse went bad, there would be no
headlamps.  (Typical Lucas thought process.)
