Larry & David,

1) Lawyers take cases to court for their living. If their share of
malpractice suits was MUCH smaller, there'd by far less law suits in
the courts so the lawyers do bear a portion of the blame here. Jurors
do NOT chose the restitution amount in law suits, judges do. Where do
judges come from... really successful trial lawyers..... I rest my
case...

2) My daughter runs an OB/GYN clinic. Her salary is around $140,000
annual. She takes home about $30K after taxes and MALPRACTICE
INSURANCE COST. She pays more for her malpractice insurance than she
brings home! Furthermore, she has been sued about 10 times in the
past 10 years. She was exhonerated of wrong doing on all occasions as
the claims were frivolous, but she had to pay her LAWYERS each time
and they cost more than she brings home in a year for one crummy case!

I'm certainly no expert on this stuff, but I'm not blind either....

Cheers!!
