My first car was a 1968 Firebird with a 350 and Powerslide transmission.
Bought it as the second owner from my Grandparents friends (in Palos Verdes)
in 1980. Great car to have as a High School student. Wish I still had it.
Quite a bit different than the '71 VW van I learned to drive in. I think
all new drivers should have to learn to drive in an underpowered big 'ol
show box on wheels. I kind of miss that VW also.
