Gary,

Not sure but you might try removing the bolts that attach the front hinges
to the bonnet.......By the looks of my Tiger you might just have room
enough to in there.  With this method you just might be able to have a
buddy carefully lift the front of the bonnet up just enough to be able to
get a bent rod in there to snag or, rather push the release fork back o
release the latch......

By now I am sure you have recieved some much better ideas....just a thought
