Tigers,

Just received the Feb. STOA "Tiger Tracks", and find we've
had the concept wrong all this time. Bob (most likely
Jennifer) Guerra, of the Alpine-Rotary Mazda fame, have
published the picture of their engine removal technique.

It can best be described as "Lifting the Engine Out the
Bottom".

What?

Yup. While they take the engine out of the car from the
bottom, the car is upside down! This is pictured with the
car bottom-side up, and the engine hydraulic joist plucking
it out vertically, attached to the bottom of the motor with
chains to the motor mount block . Got the tranny at the
same time. The car is supported on on a rotisserie, but
there are no instructions as to how the car was hoisted that
high, initially. Assume the engne/tranny installation is the
reverse of the removal.

Come on, Jennifer, release the Tech Notes.

Steve

BTW: A picture of Jennifer and some other dude is in the
issue. One look at her angelic face and you know this is
for real. After all - she made the Alpine-Mazda, not Bob.
