Scott:

The first thing to check is the 10 volt lucas transformer that supplies
power to the temp and gas gauges.  It's behind the dash, a silver metal can
about 1" by 1/2". Check the output side (the wires that run to your gauges)
with the car running. It should indicate a constant 10 volts,
if not, you'll get all kinds of screwy readings.
Many Tiger owners have spent hundreds of dolllars on the cooling system when
all they needed to do was replace this stupid transformer.
