I believe you said the Volvo fan is well positioned. If that means that
it is 2/3 in and 1/3 out of the shroud, centered in the shroud, has
enough side room clearance to allow engine torque rocking, but not much
more, and does not hit the rack, don't worry about it. It probably means
you have the wrong motor mounts. (8-)

The above mentioned geometry, with the original fan, is the purpose of
the spacers, which are about the right diameter for the bolts and maybe
twice as thick as a fender washer. The 6 blade is cut to fit the
clearances of the original, but without the spacers, it will not be
centered. Mine was perfect until the mounts were replaced, the washers
left out, and the fan blade knocked itself into a new shape to clear the
rack. Lucky the rack is steel and the blades are aluminum.

If this is NOT the case, then you can start worrying.
