And that "one reason"...FORD MONEY!!!
Remember "Total Performance"? Also, the Cobra was not going to make it happen 
until Pete Brock designed the Daytona body...
(while admitting that the Cobra had many aspects which made it more favorable 
as a starting point for road racing, relative to the Tiger)

(I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong . . .)

Tiger is about 1000 lbs heavier than a Cobra. Ok, 500lbs - but that is still
a lot of fat-lady to haul around.

Power wise the Tiger has too many space limitations - where do you put
really good headers?  Carbs?  Webers? Heads?.

I'm dialing the fire dept. now, just in case . . . .
