Andy,
I never saw racing at the Paramount track either (though I did see part of
the course last Summer at a "Silent Movie Night" they have out there). I
did, however, go to Riverside a number of times. We would sit up in what I
think was turn six (it was after the ess'es where there was a 90 degree
righthand turn at the top of the hill). Gone too are Lions drag strip and
Irwindale Raceway! As a kid I lived about 8 miles from Irwindale (in San
Gabriel) and on the right night you could clearly hear the racing that I so
longingly desired to be at.
Hey, people pay for a video of a fireplace or a fish tank. Maybe they would
pay to hear all the wonderful sounds of auto racing too! How's that for
progress (LOL).
