Jim,

Dick Taylor sent me this.

Looks like he meant to address the entire list. The List wasn't on my cc
list.

After reading it, I couldn't hear the "Twilight Zone" music anymore.

Maybe not everyone on the list has read it -- I've read a bunch of
Nelson's stuff there, but hadn't read Clutch one yet.

I think there's some folks on this List that know more than I do about
some things.

Just an outside shot.

:-)

Don

List---This subject is covered in great detail in the Buckeye Triumph
website, so those interested should go to this site:

Go down to "technical", then to "Reliable Clutch" and any of the other
clutch coverages.

Yes, the quality problem with the RHP throwout bearings started around
1994. The latest episodes were around year 2000. They were apparantly
manufactured at several different places, and difficult to pin down
which one, (or more) contaminated the lots. There was one stretch of
time that many of us were changing several of these a year on the same
car. Eventually the parts houses became weary of the complaints and
started searching for a better bearing. Thus, the KOYO.
Opening up the RHPs showed them to be of poor quality, according to
TRF. No big surprise, here.
