Keep in mind that if it is vapor lock, it will occur on the suction side of
the fuel pump. If the fuel boils after the pump, the pump will push the
bubbles into the carbs along with the fuel. If the fuel boils before the
fuel pump, the fuel pump can't suck  vapor very well, so you run out of
fuel. I would think your fuel line would have to get very hot to cause this
in a TR6 since the fuel pump is below the fuel tank.

Sounds like vapor lock to me. Years ago, I had a Sunbeam Alpine that used 
to act just like that in hot weather. I eventually learned that if I just 
found something else to do for an hour or two, I'd come back to the car and 
it would be fine.

It might be worth looking at your fuel line routing and seeing if there is 
any place that could be getting excessively hot as the engine warms up.
