I'm wondering why you feel you have to modify your SU needles. There are so
many available, in such small increments of dimensional changes, that you
should be able to buy exactly what you need. This even a spreadsheet program
where you can compare needle specs for multiple needles. I think a bit of
research could help save you a lot of time and grief.
