While it would be a wonderfully short drive for me to go to TMS for
Nationals, I have to question whether or not the asphalt could handle that
kind of abuse. I know it seemed to have survived about 1800 runs at the last
Tour but would 3000+ runs over the same line wear a groove halfway to china?
I just love the annual pilgrimage to race on concrete.

Part of what makes it so great is that it's built to handle crowds of
200,000. The track is located on I-35 about 5 miles north of Ft. Worth, so
there are only a few hotels within a couple of miles. However, within 10-15
miles there are all the hotels that a major city can offer. Not to mention
the fact that there is enough room for about 10,000 RV's at the site. Also,
as far as weather goes, mid October in Texas is pretty close to perfection.
