At the local event here last Sunday, a guy showed up
with a 1987 HS Volkswagen Rabbit convertible on a
trailer. I heard that it had over 700,000 miles on it.
It won HS by almost 1.5 seconds. Of course, that's
expected of German-engineered cars. :-)
Back when I was running the One Lap, there was a Honda
entered that had run like 7 previous years, and had
some seriously high miles on it. If I remember correctly,
it threw a timing belt along the 5,600 mile trip that
year. The One Lap will break anything, so I wouldn't
assume that it was a flaw in Honda's reliability record.
I don't know much about Hondas, but I wouldn't let
the odometer scare you. Just plan to replace all of the
chassis bushings to tighten everything back up again
when you're budgeting your purchase.....
