My two cents worth,

When I was running the Denver region Solo program, long as we
had 100 ft of sight we ran. It was real fun when it snowed. You would think
most folks would stay home, Oh No not the die hard Auto-X'R. Safety is the
biggest concern but you can have a safe and FUN event. Rain events are just
plain wet rat runs, you just grin and bear it if you be chasin the points
leader. ;-)

Over the years, I have run in many events in pouring rain. It's
uncomfortable, but doable. Lightning stops things quickly. You don't want to
fry a course worker.

We have had an event cancelled before it got started because the fog was so
thick at 11:00 A.M. we still couldn't see the other side of the parking lot.
It finally lifted at something like 3:00 P.M. And, one event was cancelled
after two runs due to a snow storm that was dumping on us in gigantic flakes
so big that they completely confused the timing lights.

Other than that, we will finish the event.
