Those shocks with adjustable spring perches are called coilovers. I don't
think any are made for Roadsters and to custom make a set is very $$$$$$.
I definitely wouldn't heat the springs but if you can find a machine shop to
cut them 1" I guess that shouldn't be too bad but I'd also cut the front
rubber bump stops too. I wouldn't go 2" however as there won't be enough
wheel travel and the shock piston just might poke through the bottom if you
hit a bad bump or bend the piston rod.
Low profile tires don't unfortunately lend themselves well to the front end
in the looks department.
