The low windshield 1600 came with a really useless water pipe set up that ran
under the heat shield and had one outlet on one side and two in the back to
the heater and the also useless extra valve. I still have my old one, and
when I was finishing up the most recent rebuild decided to clean it up and
put it back on after 10 years. I recalled today why I took it off -- it
leaks from some corrosion pinholes, and I spent an hour redoing it in rubber
tubing.
Dean sells one for a lot of money, haven't seen any others elsewhere.
Anyone ever try to make a replacement out of copper tubing and fittings
sweated together? I am going back to black rubber hose to get to Solvang,
but need another project for when I get back.
