Is that what you call it? retapped? I had the experience of working on a
hapless 66 in which some LOSER had FORCED 8X1.25 nuts onto every carb stud,
where once a 5/16 NF once fit. It wasn't pretty. I could almost hear him in
his misguided efforts as I attempted to reverse his damage - "This IS a
Jap-O-Nese car, I woonder why these here Met-ric nuts is sooo tight?"
