Connecting rod length (somewhat OT)

Hey list. I have seen somewhere an ideal connecting rod length
based on the stroke length. I dont know if it was 1.70:1 or
something else but it was in one of those Datsun "Hot Rod" books.
Example if the rod center to center is 133 mm the stroke should
be between 78 to 79 mm. Anybody who knows any reference
in books or on the net?
