I talked with an AmsOil distributor a while back about a filter for my 2000.
According to him AmsOil does make an air filter for the 2000. I have not
looked at to confirm whether or not it is really the correct shape, but like
the K&M filter, AmsOil filters are foam filters that can be cleaned,
re-oiled, and re-used over and over again. They also allow more air in and
keep more stuff out.

motor?

Hummm... K&N filters are rewashable and have a 1,000,000 mile warranty, so
you can reuse the same filter time and time again. Probably cost you $50
for the filter and $20 for a reoiling kit. Nissan air filters are $22 at
your dealer and can only be used once. Besides the original filters are
becoming increasingly rare... and now that you mentioned that low price on
the List, there are folks swarming your local dealers buying up ALL those
rare filters and you'll soon be paying the same amount as the rest of us.
So, for about the price of 3 1/4 regular Nissan filters, you could have the
K&N filter AND the oiling kit for the life of your car.

The info listed on the www.311s.org , Engine section IS geared entirely
toward the 1600 /R16 crowd and not the U20 side.

Good luck!

 Eric
