Hi again,

I sure didn't mean my earlier exposition as a slur against you, Tom, or
anyone else who races in the vintage spirit. You follow the regulations
set forward to you from your organization, accept any penalties without
issues, have a GREAT vintage spirit, and have a good time. The people
CVAR is working to weed out are the ones who purposefully break the
existing regulations in order to win or do much better than they
normally would have. There have been a lot of cheater drivers in some
of the classes -- everyone knew who they were and were talking unhappily
about them, but nothing was really done. CVAR decided that it was time
to have everyone follow the regulations they agreed to follow when they
became members, and is now enforcing that.

I have no problems with upgrading cars to whatever level is allowed by
the driver's race organization. I also understand some race
organizations may allow things another may not. My whole point is that
if all you want to do is cheat and hide it so you can win, that is not
in the vintage racing spirit. Follow the rules--they're there for a
reason--and work on your driving skills to improve yourself. I also
think that other organizations should allow cars for special events that
may not be prepped quite to their standards, but the driver should be
honest with the work done to the car so the organization can place
him/her in the appropriate class running with similar cars, mostly for
safety reasons.

Off the soapbox now!

Keep Triumphing,
Susan :)
