Yes ;)  

Try the easy/cheap one first: remove the cable, clean it and look for any 
irregularities in the cable (kinks, stretched parts, etc.).  If it's PERFECT, 
re-lube with a good, light grease and return to service.  When you lube, 
clean and inspect the ends for "squareness" and don't lube the last inch or
so on the speedo end ... the grease will creap up the cable and foul the 
speedo.  I'd clean the sheath while you have it off; brake cleaner--it's mostly
alcohol these days--should do a good job.  If there's built-up crud in there
that can cause a wobble.

Next most likely is the angle drive which, I believe, is a short length of 
cable which makes a right-angle bend.  If it wasn't lubed it could be the
problem.

My money's on the cable.
