Allen, On another e-group, the subject of under hood temps came up,
specifically the heat generated under the carbs from the exhaust headers.
several
people mentioned that they had put Jet Jot coating on their headers (one also
did
it to his E-type) and reduced the amount of heat coming off the headers and
under the hood. Apparently the Jet Hot keeps more heat in the exhaust and away
from the carbs and intake air. No personal knowledge but I think I am going
to try it. No interest, just info I have heard. No experience with the
different heat shield either.
