Tom,
I T-Boned an International pickup once. I was going around 60mph. All three
spokes of the steering wheel broke. The rim of the steering wheel broke my
nose. I was wearing a lap belt. I think the steering box probably went below
the pickup frame so the radiator/engine took the brunt of the blow.
