If you intend to show your truck in events under the sanction of the VCCA,
AACA or similar, then correct wire type is important. Plastic covered wire
will cost you points when cloth cover wire is authentic.
YnZ's YESTERDAYS PARTS, Redlands, CA (909-798-1498)specializes in authentic
wiring harnesses. I have one in my '46 and just ordered one for my '39.
They are very pricey (like 3 times the $ over plastic) but they are very
cool and judges love them.

I have a 46 Chevy 1/2 ton and have ran some of the replacement wires myself.
All black rubber coated - not original cloth. Now I am think that it would
be best to replace the whole harness. I am going ALL original - so far. I
have a question, if someday I want to enter this in a truck show would it be
marked down for using a plastic replacement for $120.00 over the cloth
original for $350.00?
