So is it true, then that if the sensors detect knocking in, say, my '90 Talon
Tsi, the engine management system will alter the timing, etc., to prevent the
knocking? And, consequently, cause the engine to produce less than full
power? If so, it would seem that the old saw about premium gas producing
better power is true after a fashion.
