Regarding GM DRL's: some genius decided that it was a good idea to use the
high beams, at a reduced intensity, on Saturn's for the DRLs. Even at the
lower brightness, I still find them annoying.
One idea for avoiding a run down battery if you leave your lights on is the
"Battery Buddy". It connects between the positive cable and the battery
(neg earth only), and disconnects the battery after some amount of drain.
There's a push button on the unit to reset. I installed one on a friend's
Honda Del Sol; he swears by it. I think it was around $50 from
Crutchfield. NFI, etc.
