What do you think is unadjustable on a Stromberg?  You can change needles, you 
can change piston springs, you can change damper oils, you can change float 
height.  All the same things you can change on a SU, a Mikuni or a Keihin.  As 
for the SU being low tech, it's the same design as the Mikuni's or Keihin's you 
admire, with all the same adjustments, principles and operations.  

For understanding, none of the above carburetors are fixed venturi, they are 
all variable venturi.  The fixed venturi models, with the inherent performance 
limitations, are Webers.  That's why on a Weber it's very important to select 
the right venturi size.
