If it were me, I'd be inclined to contact David Beam at http://www.davebean.com 
and ask him to sell me his  lipped grease seals for a Spitfire.  That's the 
much better, more modern, way to go.  That, or I'd wander down to my local 
bearing store and see what sort of seal that had on the shelf that would work 
better then the oem felt ones.
