To find a pre-calibrated bit of road look no further than your local dual
carriageway. You should find a bit, generally nice and straight, where the
local authority have provided 2 white blocks painted in the centre of the
lane 1/3 mile apart (I think, it may vary). These are used by the local
constabulary to spot cars going over and roughly estimate the speed from
remote cameras. 60mph = 20 seconds of course, perfect for what you need.
