I am not taking sides, I don't need to.
I just suggest that you both leave this dispute now.
What either of you is unlikely to do is to change the other's opinion,
or "force" an unwilling apology from the other.
Just accept that words were said that made you feel bad, but you each
have it within your power to stop that feeling by simply leaving the
whole matter.
Either, or both of you can apologise if you feel inclined to do so,
and may yourself feel the better for it.
Now, where's that wheel chock gone?
