Yep, its so the car will sit level with a driver in the seat. You have the
correct springs located in the correct location.
Why are you having them rearched? If the leaves are intact I would leave them
alone and put a thich anti-swaybar of the front. The combination of weak rears
& anti-sway bar makes for max. cornering ability. The TR3 had problems with the
rear springs lifting a rear wheel on heavy cornering.
