Uh, Joe, what's cold to you? Here in upstate NY what you describe is 
rather common, and it gets worse. Around 30 degrees BELOW (F), the 
gearbox feels more like it's full of nearly hardened mortar, to 
complement the vinyl seats that feel like hardened mortar!

And yes, oh yee who scoff at such: most Triumphs I've had over the years 
DO start at rather cold temperatures. The only exceptions were a Mk.3 
Spitfire with a demanding appetite for dry gas to keep the carbs from 
freezing, and a GT6+ that didn't like being surrounded by snowbanks AND 
minue 30 temperatures -- period.

OTOH, my GT6 Mk.III was a suitable candidate for a Die Hard battery ad. 
It once spent several weeks parked UNDER a snowbank. Upon digging it 
out, the car started on about the second try.
